DWDM AWG WSS Automated Production and Testing
Dimension Technology is proud to present the latest Wavelength Sweep Test (WST) system, designed to provide precise performance testing for Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) devices in modern optical communications. With the widespread application of WDM technology in fiber optics, allowing the simultaneous transmission of multiple wavelengths in a single optical fiber significantly enhances communication bandwidth. To ensure the efficient operation of this key technology, accurate and reliable testing of WDM devices becomes crucial.
Description
Dimension Technology's Wavelength Sweep Test system features a modern design and technological advantages, dedicated to meeting the measurement requirements of complex optical communication networks. While various testing solutions such as spectrometers and optical power meters provide performance data for WDM devices, traditional methods often face limitations in terms of high costs, operational complexity, and lack of flexibility.
Current Situation:Multiple testing solutions have been developed to test and validate the performance of WDM devices, including spectrometers, optical power meters, and optical time-domain reflectometers. These devices offer precise information about optical signal intensity, wavelength, bandwidth, and other crucial parameters. However, traditional testing methods often suffer from high costs, operational complexity, and limited flexibility.
Advantages
1. High-precision tunable light source providing sub-picometer wavelength resolution.
The newly introduced TopLight tunable light source supports a wavelength tunable range of 1260~1630nm, ensuring high wavelength accuracy and fast scanning speed, guaranteeing the efficiency and reliability of the testing system.
2. Flexible and expandable to meet changing needs.
Dimension Technology's WST wavelength sweep test system not only allows real-time adjustment of the light source wavelength to accommodate various testing requirements but also enables users to customize the system configuration based on their needs, such as adding polarization-related testing modules.
3. Accuracy and reliability
Combining advanced optical technology and algorithms, the system offers wavelength resolution exceeding 1pm and wavelength accuracy within ±5pm, ensuring highly reliable test results.
4. Light source reuse.
Using real-time synchronization technology effectively reduces the demand for expensive equipment such as tunable light sources, achieving economical and efficient multi-station reuse.
5. Integrated software architecture
Dimension Technology's WST system provides a comprehensive assessment, capturing various performance parameters of WDM devices. Its integrated software serves as the core of the system, offering operators a simple and intuitive control interface.

1.TopLight Tunable Light Source
A highly integrated tunable light source, drawing on Dimension Technology's sixteen years of optomechanical development experience. It covers a wavelength range of >100nm without mode hopping and achieves ±10pm wavelength accuracy and 200nm/s wavelength scanning speed. Stable performance, peak output power >+15dBm, supporting multiple channels for wavelength division multiplexing.
2.HOPM High-Speed Power Meter
Dimension Technology's high-speed optical power meter series modules provide batch acquisition and trigger acquisition modes, offering up to 10KHz high-speed continuous acquisition, a dynamic range of +10dBm to -70dBm, and a storage depth of 10 million measurement data. Modular design allows the mounting of up to 40-channel power meters simultaneously for high-speed acquisition using the FreeDesign test platform.
3.FreeDesign Intelligent Instrument Development Platform
Modular instruments are the future trend, and Dimension Technology, adapting to cutting-edge innovation, has developed the FreeDesign platform supporting up to 11 slots, compatible with all Dimension Technology modular products. The built-in high-performance processor serves as the central scheduler for the entire wavelength sweep system, supporting synchronous triggering of all modules to simplify testing on-site.
4.PPC Polarization Controller
Testing PDL is essential for WDM devices. Dimension Technology's newly developed PPC polarization controller supports a six-state polarization algorithm, calculating the device's polarization loss at a high rate, eliminating the need to scan the entire output power of the BGO. The device supports various program control methods and network communication interfaces, offering high polarization extinction ratio and supporting the C+L band.
5.Return Loss Test Module
For the port and WDM device return loss testing requirements, Dimension Technology introduces a scanning test solution. The WSS software system quickly generates return loss scan curves, allowing fast calibration testing and improving testing efficiency.
